Still Life at Home

We've been hiking, mostly at our local park, Point Defiance, but a few other spots too. In between hikes I've been trying to do all the maintenance for the house and RV that has accumulated since we've been traveling so much this year. I've also been trying to use up our abundant garden produce, mostly tomatoes and cucumbers, with some plums from a neighbor. It's nice to get back into a routine at home, with Pilates classes, sessions with my Spanish tutor and social meet ups with friends and family. Nothing special, but it's all special.

Our garden harvest.

Dinner on the deck at Anthony's.

Food is always better with friends.

My favorite time of year for available produce.

Fresh gazpacho and onion-gruyere sourdough.

Nice views at Point Defiance.

Dinner on a friends deck.

At the Steilacoom Summer Concert Series.

So fun and such a nice evening.

Fika in Tacoma, but at a German bakery.

She gets to use her native German at this cafe.

Summer Vegetable Torte.

Nice views from the office.

My birthday dinner at The Lobster Shop.

So good.

Mom baked me a birthday zucchini muffin.

The sun sets earlier at this time of year. We have to hike fast.

Looking toward Gig Harbor from Point Defiance.

The Tacoma Narrows.

More cukes!

Pickles and jam.

This was a lovely trail near Snoqualmie Pass.

It started raining as soon as we got back to the truck.

Greenwater Lake.

So quiet today.

The fall colors are just starting to show.

Always stop at Wally's on the way home.

Filtered light at Point Defiance.

The Tacoma Narrows Bridge.

Fixing the pendant lights in the kitchen.

Cedar is feisty after his walk.

Walking and talking with a friend, just like the local geese.

The Ruston Waterwalk is for the birds today.

My life feels full and fun. I'm so glad we have this time at home to enjoy what our area has to offer.
