We've been hanging out and getting stuff done. Lots of food, lots of errands, lots of events. We have gone to Elda's Mexican Kitchen every week for breakfast; it's worth the repeat visits. We've also eaten a lot of home cooking and visited friends and relatives in the area. I've gotten more familiar with Farmington, partly because I've driven in by myself twice a week to take a Zumba class. Fun!

We drove up to Durango, Colorado to Animas River Brewing for a pint, then walked the Animas River Trail at Rank Park before grabbing lunch at a favorite spot... Kachina Kitchen. The fall weather has been so perfect, and we hit the leaf change just right this year. It's nice to see the cottonwoods and the aspens in their fall colors.

The Durango Library Facade has a wonderful design.

I've also cut Russ' hair, trimmed the cat's claws, watched the Aztec Homecoming parade, and saw the Dusenbery's Car show in Aztec when we went to 550 Brewing for pizza and beer. I've been writing in my journal and reading a lot of books on my kindle. Overall, a nice combination of relaxing and working. Cedar managed to get himself muddy by pouncing into the irrigation ditch after a mouse, so he got a quick bath in the R-Pod sink!

It snowed on us one morning! The area can definitely use the moisture, since it's been a dry few years. I've really enjoyed driving around and going to some of the restaurants that I've never tried here. We spend a fair bit of time here, but I will probably never try them all!

I took this from the R-Pod window. It had already mostly melted off.

We did get some sad news from home. Our friend K died suddenly. Over the years we've hiked, climbed, traveled and spent many hours and days with K and Z. We will be able to get home in time to attend the planned memorial service. I've been including thoughts of K and Z in my morning meditation. It's harder to enjoy our everyday things knowing that we are far from home and can't provide the support we usually would. We also saw them before we left on this trip. I'm so glad I didn't find an excuse to not visit them when we had the chance just days before we got on the road.
